We hope this will be the final step on the way to the opening of the park - some residents living directly across from the dog park are concerned about its presence and their quality of life.
Community Board 3 is holding a special meeting to address these concerns about a block from the park, at the White Castle headquarters on 34th Avenue at 69th Street.
We encourage all interested in the opening of the park to attend, especially those living in very close proximity to - or even overlooking - the park.
Message laying out the agenda for the evening from CB3:
Good Evening To All,
Thank you for your assistance in helping to organize the information meeting
regarding the Dog Park. Residents who live near the site have questions and
would like to get to know the people who will be utilizing the dog park. For
those of you who did not attend last month's Community Board meeting, a resident
complained that he and his neighbors knew nothing about the dog park. Our
Chairperson Grace Lawrence advised the resident that the Community Board would
schedule a meeting. Please note that the residents have seen activity around the
site and realize that the dog park will be opening shortly.
The objective of the meeting is provide information, let the neighbors know who
the operators of the park are. What are the dog park rules, hours of operation
and who to contact when there is a concern, the standard introduction for a new
neighbor.
We have asked NYSDOT to be present to answer any questions regarding the site.
Mr Michael Gervickis, Landscape Architect, Region 11, one of the designers of
the dog park, will be attending the meeting.
See you Thursday, we will meet in the rear meeting room of the White Castle
office, located near the parking lot at 7:30pm.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Best regards,
Giovanna A. Reid
