Hi Marcus,
Sorry I can not attend tonight's meeting, but I am curious to know if you can give me an update. Has the city agreed to build a dog park in our neighborhood? If so when will it happen? Sorry I am so out of the loop!

Thank you! She's not been feeling too well lately - she recently turned 14.

So's yours -- what's her name?

Henna's doing well for an old girl -- she's 14 in July but still full of poodle mania.

Hi Marcus,
I am glad to see someone trying to organize this. It is going to take work and more importantly a critical mass of people (local voters) to push the political agenda. I have had several discussions with Counselwoman Helen Sears about this. The biggest ptoblem is the land is owned by NY State. There are looking for a substantial liability insurance from anyone using the property. According to Sears the city will not pay anything. If you can present a big enough voting constituancy behind this I think her office would be ready to help make this happen. I don't know why the city could not lease land for $1 and have the parks department run. I assume there is a lot of red tape but Sears could steer us though this if she was inclined to.

I probably joined this group a little early -- I'm trying to buy an apartment in JH right now, so I don't even have a definite move-in date just yet. The seller found your group after I talked to her about these concerns, so I thought the best thing for me was to be proactive!
I'm hoping to close at the end of the month and with any luck will be in my new apartment in May. I'd love to help out, or at least attend meetings, when that happens.
Beautiful dogs, by the way! If I post pictures on my page here, do they run on the home page or just live on my specific page?
Enjoy the Poconos and your holiday weekend!
